Pakistan’s Apna Ghar housing programme has recorded Rs448 billion in approved loans for 75,198 applicants, according to figures presented at a financing review chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on October 14, 2026. The meeting was told that Rs76 billion had been disbursed to 14,000 beneficiaries, Associated Press of Pakistan reported.
The update provides a new lending snapshot alongside directions to simplify housing-finance documentation and advance work on developers’ finance.

Title documents and developer finance
The prime minister directed officials to make documentation easier, particularly the process of obtaining unencumbered title deeds. He also asked the developers’ finance committee to submit its recommendations promptly, according to Radio Pakistan’s October 14 report.
Ministries and the State Bank of Pakistan were instructed to complete stakeholder consultations across housing, agriculture and small-business financing by the end of October and present recommendations to improve existing schemes.
Approvals and disbursements remain distinct
The briefing reported a target of Rs700 billion in financing for 125,000 housing units during the current year.
For homebuyers, approved lending and money already disbursed represent different stages. The latest directions do not provide a new effective date or detailed procedure for the proposed title-document changes, and they do not establish automatic loan eligibility or approval.
