Naya Nazimabad REIT was in focus at a Pakistan Stock Exchange ceremony in Karachi on October 1, 2026, as Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb discussed housing finance and the role of real estate investment trusts in Pakistan’s property sector.
The event marked the listing of Naya Nazimabad Apartment REIT. The exchange’s official timeline records its listing date as September 17, 2026, so the October 1 ceremony should be distinguished from the start of its listing.

Housing Finance Update at the PSX Ceremony
According to the Press Information Department’s October 1 release, the finance minister reported that approximately PKR 60 billion had been financed under the Prime Minister’s Apna Ghar Programme.
He also referred to an additional approved financing pipeline of around PKR 340 billion awaiting disbursement. These figures describe different stages of financing and should not be combined as money already delivered to borrowers.
The minister called for faster housing development and highlighted REITs as a way to mobilise real estate investment. His remarks connect the ceremony with the wider discussion about expanding formal financing for housing.
Naya Nazimabad REIT Listing Timeline
The official PSX listing record sets out the completed timetable:
- PSX approval: August 10, 2026
- SECP approval: August 12, 2026
- Book building: September 1–2, 2026
- Public subscription: September 7–8, 2026
- Listing: September 17, 2026
The September subscription period has therefore closed. Today’s ceremony is a new news event concerning an already listed scheme.
What the Official Documents Say About the REIT
The official offer-for-sale document describes a limited-life, closed-end, Shariah-compliant developmental REIT managed by Arif Habib Dolmen REIT Management Limited.
Its disclosed assets include seven plots in Karachi, 216 plots in Bankers Avenue Cooperative Housing Society on Bedian Road, Lahore, and 76 retail shops in IT Tower, Gulberg, Lahore. This gives the story a Lahore connection alongside the Naya Nazimabad name.
The offer covered 44,062,500 existing units, representing 15% of the scheme, offered by Javedan Corporation Limited. As an offer for sale of existing units, it should not be described as if all sale proceeds were new capital being raised directly for construction.
Why This Matters for Property Readers
The announcement brings together two subjects that matter to the property market: access to housing finance and the use of listed vehicles for real estate exposure. For readers following Pakistan real estate updates, the useful distinction is between policy statements, approved finance, actual disbursements and completed development.
A REIT unit represents an interest in the scheme; it is not the same as a title deed to a specific apartment. The offer document also identifies construction, sales, collection and market-price risks. Listing does not guarantee returns or dividends.
The next developments to watch are official financing-disbursement updates and the scheme’s published project and financial disclosures. Those will provide more useful evidence of progress than the ceremony alone.
