The Bahria Town Lahore Power Cut has left multiple housing sectors without electricity after bulk connections were disconnected due to unpaid dues exceeding Rs 682 million. Officials confirmed that the housing developer failed to clear outstanding payments despite repeated deadline extensions, prompting the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) to take action.

The payment deadline, originally set for November 21, was rescheduled several times at Bahria Town’s request. When the dues remained unpaid, LESCO moved forward with the Bahria Town Lahore Power Cut, which affected several major bulk connections — one of which alone accounted for approximately Rs 530 million.

The sudden Bahria Town Lahore Power Cut caused widespread inconvenience. Residents reported disruptions in cooking, heating, water supply, and basic household operations, as refrigerators, pumps, and appliances stopped functioning. Many expressed frustration, calling it a direct consequence of poor management and communication by the housing administration.

Residents have warned of peaceful protests if dues are not settled soon, with some planning demonstrations outside Bahria Town offices after Friday prayers. According to LESCO, electricity will only be restored once all arrears are fully cleared, regardless of any ongoing legal disputes.

This is not the first Power Cut incident. A similar power disconnection occurred in 2024 when unpaid bills crossed Rs 762 million, indicating a recurring conflict between Bahria Town management and the utility provider.

At present, several sectors remain without electricity, forcing some residents to shift temporarily to alternative accommodations. This Power Cut has raised serious concerns about financial transparency, utility management practices, and the long-term reliability of bulk supply systems in major private housing societies.
