Sindh Turkish SEZ Investment Drive Begins
The Sindh government has officially launched the Sindh Turkish SEZ Investment drive to attract Turkish companies into its Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and priority development sectors. The initiative was introduced during a high-level meeting chaired by Provincial Special Assistant on Investment and Public-Private Partnerships, Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, with Turkey’s Consul General and Commercial Attaché.
Under the Sindh Turkish SEZ Investment programme, the province showcased its top industrial zones, including Dhabeji SEZ—situated near Karachi with direct port access—and Khairpur SEZ, a growing agribusiness and industrial hub. Both zones were highlighted for their tax incentives, efficient logistics, and investor-friendly regulatory framework.
Major upcoming projects, such as Karachi Education City and Marble City Karachi, were also presented as part of the province’s expanding investment ecosystem. Officials identified key sectors ideal for Turkish participation, including energy, IT, agriculture, water recycling, education, infrastructure development, industrial manufacturing, and environmental technology.
The government noted that several Turkish companies have already shown interest in entering Sindh’s industrial space, particularly in the manufacturing sector. Firms exploring opportunities include motorcycle assemblers, electric appliance producers, and potential investors in a newly planned SEZ in Hyderabad.
Turkish representatives expressed strong interest—especially in agribusiness opportunities in Khairpur SEZ and education-sector investment within Karachi Education City—signalling a promising direction for bilateral economic cooperation.
As part of the Sindh Turkish SEZ Investment initiative, Sindh assured streamlined facilitation, fast-track approvals, and public-private partnership support for foreign investors. The provincial government aims to position Sindh as a preferred destination for Turkish capital, creating industrial growth, employment opportunities, and stronger economic ties between Sindh and Turkey.
